Nobody Is Perfect, But We Are All Perfectly Ourselves

Nobody Is Perfect, But We Are All Perfectly Ourselves

Imagine being a parent, and being told that your 6-year-old, eldest child had rare neurological conditions, and if your eldest baby didn’t have brain surgery as soon as possible they wouldn’t be on this earth and have a future?

That’s what my parents were told!

At the age of 7, I (Shanice) had my first of a long list of surgeries, when of course I should have been going to school and living my childhood, carefree and loving life. By the time I was 10 years old, I’d had 11 operations, yes 11 within 3 years. At the age of 10, I ended up paralysed from the neck down, due to a blood clot that formed at the base of my brain. Thankfully, after a successful removal of the blood clot, I am no longer paralysed, however still left in a wheelchair.

Growing up as a teenager in a wheelchair wasn’t easy, the stares from others were a daily occurrence, I learned to grow a thick skin but inside I was not as strong, unfortunately. I felt insecure and not comfortable in my own skin. I never felt like I fit in and felt like I was a burden or just in the way. This was my start toward accepting my perfect self.

Now looking back, I can definitely say that I suffered with limited belief in myself and depression, but I kept the barriers up. However, I now know how I felt then that I’m not alone and others have or are currently feeling the same.

At the age of 18, something I thought would never happen, happened. I had my first child and, wow, I felt like the luckiest person alive. Then, ‘mum guilt’ kicked in massively. Could I give my daughter all that she needed? Would she wish, when she was older, that she had an able-bodied mum? Could I even parent, right? I had to adapt and do things differently to others, am I doing wrong? These were just a few thoughts that went through my head.

I will be honest, I was beating myself up for nothing because I was a great mum who, yes, did things differently to many but all her baby’s needs were met and more. We adapted and grew together and less than 2 years after having my baby girl, I had a beautiful baby boy, and I am so grateful each and every day to be their mummy. It hasn’t always been easy, I had a very rough, and hard pregnancy when I was pregnant with my son.

While going through this pregnancy and having an under 2-year-old too, I was told by a neurosurgeon that there wasn’t much left they can do for me, which was like a kick in the teeth. But something inside of me clicked and I had this fire in my belly feeling and I knew I had to do something…

However long I have left on this earth, I am going to work my butt off to give my babies everything they need for their futures.

By having this feeling inside of me I decided to look into what I can do that not only fits around my children but also worked around my daily chronic pain; the days where I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow, the days where doing simple daily tasks was a challenge and days where life felt like a constant challenge. That was when I found network marketing but, after years of doing that, I realised it wasn’t for me.

I didn’t have a passion to do it each and every day, but what I did find from this journey, and welcomed with open arms, was personal development. I realised that the way I had gotten through all my life obstacles and struggles was through the power of my mind. That is why I can proudly say that I am now a mindset coach, truly is something I am passionate about, helping individuals to create a fulfilling life and accessing their perfect inner power through their mind and belief system.

My goal in life is that when I leave this earth, I can look down from heaven above and somebody from below says my name, and others say, ‘YES she changed my life’.

You see life isn’t all rainbows and fairies and some days can be tougher than others and yes, my life is no exception. I am still in daily chronic pain, and I still have days where I want to scream from the top of my lungs. But I can now see the beauty of what’s around me, and every single day, no matter how much of a challenge it may be, I always express my gratitude, because for now I am alive, and I was put on this earth to make a difference.

Seeing my clients transform and breakthrough from anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues and so much more, puts not only a smile on my face and tears in my eyes but also helps me know that I have 1000 million percent found my purpose and this is only just the start for Wheel Empower Coaching

So, what are you grateful for?

Remember we are all enough and all deserve to find out happiness so go be your perfect and true self.
