But when it comes to business growth, and you’ve passed the start-up, fledgling stage of your business, you move from collective strategies to something much more powerful: developing your own way of doing things.
When you build your business based on the rhythm of someone else’s style, you can hit a brick wall pretty quickly.
Because when you find your own way and, more importantly, understand how you connect with others and make sales, the energy behind your strategy matches the way you are designed to lead, create and sell.
This distinction alone has caused my business to quadruple in the last year.
There are many successful business owners out there selling the secret to their multi 6 and 7 figure business models. And when we buy those templates and strategies, that’s only helping them prove their point even more: they could sell motivation to a room full of motivational speakers.
The Copy And Paste Launch
A few years ago, I invested $4,000 into a group coaching programme that promised to teach the “perfect launch”. It came with everything: email templates, webinar scripts, social media prompts, and a tightly structured nine-week plan.
I followed it exactly.
By the time I delivered my live webinar – a part I genuinely loved – I was completely depleted. Forty people attended, I made one sale, and immediately after showing up as my brightest, most excited self… I crashed. I spent three days in bed, unable to even open an app on my phone.
I remember lying there thinking, How am I a trained marketer who can’t complete a launch? What am I missing?
And then, in perfect timing, I discovered Human Design.
The Ah Ha Moment
I realised I was a Projector aura type, and everything made sense; the exhaustion, the following like a sheep to reach a goal that probably wasn’t even mine to begin with.
If you know anything about Human Design already, you’ll know that Projectors are not designed to operate through constant output; our energy leads in a different way from what our society tells us.
We thrive through clarity, insight, guidance, and intentional bursts of energy – not nine straight weeks of pushing.
What’s more, I realised I was learning this launch strategy from someone very different than me. As a Manifesting-Generator, she was someone designed to move fast, respond quickly, and thrive in high-energy momentum.
Of course her strategy worked for her.
Of course it drained me.
We were operating from entirely different energetic blueprints.
Dancing To My Own Rhythm
Little by little, as I learnt, loved and lived the Human Design system, I began to understand how I could create a business as a Projector. I became qualified in HD, and used my corporate marketing background to start helping others who I could see were struggling with the hustle culture of online coaching too.
My visibility strategy is built on not just my energy type, but also my profile (the way I am designed to connect with people). I am a big believer that sales happen due to the frequency of your aura, what you are putting out there, so I help others step into their true power and sell from just being themselves.
Now, the more I honour my Projector rhythm and expand my own frequency, the more impact I have on those around me. I work 4 hours a day, take intentional rest times and I earn 4 times more than I did in my corporate career.
