Empowering Female Entrepreneurs to Lead with Confidence
You’ve felt it since you were a child – the inner calling to do something that impacted people’s lives.
Then, the world did its thing.
You came into contact with the dangers associated of being seen, speaking up, or standing out.
Yet now, you stand at the crossroads that so many women are facing:
Do you retreat to the life of hiding, staying silent, and playing it safe?
Or do you decide to go all-in on this mission, and utilize your voice as an instrument of groundbreaking change?
I believe that if you’re still reading this, you know you were born for the latter choice.
So let’s lay the first brick down on the path of your purpose:
We’ll discuss why this bone-deep fear of speaking up exists, what it means to speak a movement into existence, and what to start implementing in your marketing today to ensure more people find you.
Why the Fear of Speaking Up Persists (And Why It’s Not Your Fault)
Over the last 5 years, speaking to hundreds of women, I’ve come to respect how pervasive the fear of speaking is. While we may differ in our upbringing, societal norms, country of birth or family beliefs, there are common themes that keep our voices under lock and key.
Do any of these ring a bell?
- It Was Societally Encouraged – Centuries of societal conditioning has communicated that women are meant to be pleasant, not outspoken, honest or bold. This is seen in the archetype of the “good girl” that we are told to be as children.
- Pain Bred Silence As A Defense – Many women, unfortunately, have gone through traumatic events as early as infancy. Silence and hiding are very smart reactions to painful events to stay safe. Give your nervous system credit for that.
- One’s Shine Was Someone Else’s Threat – This is for the one who fears “being too much”. I’ll wager that since you were a child, you were told to shrink yourself to not make someone else feel bad. That wasn’t your responsibility to take on. In fact, your shine is a gift many need to witness.
- Being Yourself Was A Risk – We talk a lot culturally about fear of judgment, but I like to go a layer beneath that. Who made you feel like judgement had dominion over your identity? Who wronged you for being YOU growing up? Fear of judgement isn’t solved by being perfect, it’s solved by trusting who you were made to be over the fleeting opinions of others.
In all these instances, the root factor that led to silencing wasn’t our fault.
However, from now on, you do have a choice. Do you choose hiding, or do you choose to be the mouthpiece of something greater?
If you choose your voice, let’s keep going.
The Real Process Behind “Owning Your Voice”
No more ”fake it until you make it” — let’s run through the milestone behind true vocal reclamation.
Understand Your Vocal Defenses. The fear has a reason. We become unstoppable when we come to partner with fear in understanding. Why has silence or hiding been a smart defense for you? Can you appreciate how it’s helped you?
Release and Replace. We need to know what to replace the habit of hiding with so that we don’t revert back to old ways. This is why the next step is crucial.
Experience Your Authentic Voice. You have to know what your voice is in order to own and optimize it. We haven’t had a process to understand what our real voices are. This is why I created Vocal Activation Technique™️, so that every woman can safely replace habits of hiding with newfound clarity of their vocal power.
Master your delivery. Once we have access to our full vocal power, it’s time to master the skillset of communication. This ensures that our voices are both heard and deeply felt, thereby growing our zone of impact.
These steps cover the process of voice, which is imperative to growing the reach of any lasting brand. Now, how do we leverage a potent voice to grow a lasting movement?
More Than An Algorithm: Building Your Movement
If nothing else, remember this: Growing a following is different from growing a movement.
These key tips will help you waste less time on vanity metrics and spend more time multiplying your reach and business demand for the long-haul:
- Let Your Voice Lead Your Brand. Instead of chasing trends for views, focus on speaking clear and compelling messages on long-form content. Speaking on podcasts, guest teaching, and hosting live conversations builds authority—not just passive content consumption.
- Prioritize Depth over Virality. Aren’t we all tired of fluff and regurgitated ideas? With the rise of Artificial Intelligence, people more than ever are looking for skillful articulation, vetted perspectives, and synthesized expertise that fosters trust.
Ask yourself – “How can I speak to the layer beneath a common concept in my field?”
“What are needed conversations that are going unheard in my field?”
- Shift Message From “Me” to “We”. A movement-building message does two things: 1) it opens up a globally relevant conversation (ex: Women Empowerment, Overcoming Silencing, Freedom of Expression), while 2) sharing it in a way that can relate to an individual.
- Paint A Clear Picture. Don’t just tell people about your mission – show them the new destination through your words, visuals and content. This is what emotionally connects to your growing audience and breeds collective support behind the movement.
Let’s Get You Out There – Closing Thoughts
Don’t believe the myth that being more expressed means having to abandon who you are, put up a forced persona or become the loudest in the room.
Being the mouthpiece of a movement actually requires deeper honesty – in who you are, what you stand for, and how you lead people.
Take a moment now, before you go about your day, to reflect on the one takeaway you want to implement in service of your budding movement.
You were born for such a time as this.
Make a decision.
And Get. Out. There.
