From Self-Doubt to Abundance: How Emily Jackson Helps Women Switch Up, Step Up, and Trust Their Next Chapter

By Women Thrive Magazine

January invites reflection. After the financial, emotional, and energetic output of the holidays, many women find themselves quietly reassessing their lives – their money, their goals, and often, their careers. Beneath the resolutions and fresh starts is a familiar, unspoken question:

Is this really where I’m meant to be?

For Emily Jackson, this question has shaped both her personal journey and her professional mission. Today, Emily is a career transition coach, speaker, and author who helps women move through uncertainty with clarity, confidence, and intention. Her work is grounded not in theory, but in lived experience – years of navigating anxiety, self-doubt, and repeated career pivots before finding alignment.

Anxiety, Control, and the Search for Direction

Emily’s struggle with anxiety began early, particularly around social interaction and her future. A self-described introvert, she felt an overwhelming need to control every aspect of her life – a pressure that intensified when she entered college.

“My anxiety spiraled,” she recalls. “I started having very physical symptoms – insomnia, weight loss, tunnel vision, heart palpitations, panic attacks.”

At times, her twin sister had to walk her to class just to ensure she made it there safely.

Despite this, Emily carried a deep desire to lead, to contribute, and to make a difference. “I had this fire in me,” she says. “But I couldn’t see how someone like me – shy, anxious, and unsure – could ever do something extraordinary.”

That internal contradiction would later become the foundation of her coaching work.

Careers We Fall Into – and the Wake-Up Call to Change

Like many women, Emily didn’t begin her career with a clear vision. She entered the fitness industry simply because she enjoyed working out and felt capable in that environment. While the role was fulfilling in some ways, she struggled to see a long-term future.

“I didn’t feel like I was doing what I was supposed to be doing,” she explains. “But I also didn’t know what that next step was.”

Over time, that misalignment manifested physically. Anxiety returned. Sleep became elusive. Her body was sending a clear message: something needed to change.

That realization marked the beginning of Emily’s journey into deep self-reflection – a process that would guide every pivot that followed. She began asking herself questions many women avoid: What am I actually good at? What energizes me? What do my strengths and values tell me about where I should go next?

Those questions changed everything.

Why Confidence Is the Root of Abundance

For Women Thrive Magazine’s January focus on financial freedom and abundance, Emily offers a perspective shaped by experience rather than financial theory.

“Confidence breeds abundance,” she says. “When you know yourself and trust yourself, you make bolder decisions – whether that’s investing in yourself, changing careers, or sharing your story.”

Without confidence, women often stay in roles that no longer serve them, undercharge, or hesitate to pursue opportunities that could dramatically shift their financial reality. Emily’s work focuses on addressing the internal blocks first – because mindset drives behavior, and behavior drives results.

The Five Mindset Shifts That Create Confidence and Clarity

At the heart of Emily’s coaching is a practical framework built around five core mindset shifts:

  1. Clarifying Values, Interests, and Their Deeper Meaning
Emily encourages women to go beyond surface-level self-awareness. Understanding why certain values and interests matter reveals the environments, roles, and paths where a woman is most likely to thrive – and feel confident doing so.

  2. Recognizing Strengths – Especially the Overlooked Ones
Strengths aren’t limited to impressive titles or standout skills. Being organized, dependable, curious, or learning-oriented are powerful assets. When women learn to name and own these qualities, their confidence naturally expands.

  3. Building and Leaning Into a Network
Once intimidated by networking herself, Emily now reframes it as simple human connection. Meaningful conversations – at work, events, or even social gatherings – can open doors and build confidence through practice and familiarity.

  4. Choosing Vulnerability in Professional Spaces
Emily believes authenticity is not a weakness, even in corporate environments. Showing up as your true self fosters stronger relationships, reduces burnout, and creates a sense of ease that supports long-term success.

  5. Releasing Control and Trusting the Bigger Picture
Faith plays a grounding role in Emily’s mindset. Accepting that not everything can be controlled allows women to navigate change without internalizing setbacks as failures – a critical shift for resilience and growth.

The Confidence Reframe That Changed Everything

One defining moment in Emily’s career came when she voiced a fear many introverted women share, that her quiet nature was being mistaken for disengagement or lack of competence.

When she shared this concern with a mentor, the response surprised her.

“She told me that when I speak, people really listen – because I don’t speak just to be heard.”

That simple reframe transformed Emily’s confidence. What she had viewed as a limitation was, in fact, a strength.

It’s why she now encourages women to seek honest feedback from their network – not for validation, but for perspective. Often, others see our value long before we do.

Switch Up & Step Up: A Path Forward

Emily’s Switch Up & Step Up Coaching Program is a six-week, individualized virtual experience designed for women navigating career transitions at any stage. Whether a woman is considering a complete career change, seeking advancement, or craving clarity, Emily provides a structured, supportive space to reflect, realign, and move forward with intention.

The work is deeply personal, but the outcome is practical: women who feel confident in who they are and clear on where they’re going next.

A January Invitation

As a new year begins, Emily offers a grounding reminder:

“You’re not behind. You’re not failing. You’re evolving.”

When women learn to trust themselves – to understand their strengths, values, and desires – confidence follows. And from confidence, abundance grows.

Not just financially, but in fulfillment, peace, and the freedom to choose what comes next.
