Breaking Barriers, Building Legacy: The Sisters Who Changed Houston’s Art

Inclusive art museum entrepreneurship vision

Turning Our Dream into Reality

When we launched the Colossal Museum, we wanted it to be much bigger than just a museum. We wanted to create a movement of inclusion, creativity, and community connection.

Five years of planning, challenges, setbacks, and financial struggles didn’t stop us. We refused to give up on our vision. What started as a colossal dream seemed like running a marathon with no finish line before we got to our colossal blessing. Making history, bringing Houston’s first interactive art museum featuring gigantic sculptures, a kids’ play area, an ice cream and slushy shop, an adult bar, and a venue that also supports the community.

Built on Purpose: Inclusion for All

The heart of Colossal is our mission, purpose of inclusion and accessibility for all. Our museum is designed with vibrant colors, multi-sensory elements, gigantic sculptures, and intentional accessibility. We wanted to create an environment where children, adults, and families, whether special needs, sensory sensitivities, mobility challenges, or visual impairments can enjoy, fully participate, feel celebrated and be a part of the art.

Colossal is more than an art space; it’s a movement. For us, it was never just about the sculptures. It was about purpose, creating a space where no one feels left out. Every person, no matter their ability, should have a place where art embraces them back.

From Setbacks to Breakthroughs

Our road to Colossal wasn’t easy. In fact, it was very challenging at times. We faced several closed doors, financial hurdles, major setbacks ending in a significant loss, and endless challenges that could have crushed our dream. Although we lost nearly $75,000 to a shady landlord (still haven’t recouped the funds yet), we didn’t let that stop us. We were determined to rise above our circumstances; we kept fighting to get to our desired outcome.

The museum is proof that our biggest challenges led to one of our biggest breakthroughs. Truth is, we kept our faith, worked extremely hard, and executed every plan; that’s what birthed a colossal blessing. The Colossal Museum is a testament to purpose, vision, resilience, consistency, perseverance, and the power of commitment and community.

A Story To Empower and Inspire Future Dreamers

Our story will hopefully inspire future entrepreneurs, dreamers, and the world that ordinary people like them can achieve extraordinary things if they dream bigger than their obstacles and circumstances.

Faith and resilience transformed our roadblocks into stepping stones to our blessings. We’re breaking barriers as Black women entrepreneurs, in both business and art, setting new trends, new possibilities, while empowering others to follow their dreams.

Community Connections

Colossal impact goes beyond the sculptures; it’s a movement for community impact. We partner with local schools, nonprofits, youth, adults, and many other organizations to host field trips, workshops, and other community events. Senior citizens are welcomed as well.

We’re expanding local partnerships with vendors and small businesses, giving them opportunities to showcase their products and services during the museum’s events.

We collaborate with special needs organizations on Colossal sponsored community events. Our goal is to ensure that Colossal Museum isn’t just a destination; it’s a pillar of support, fueling economic growth, creating jobs, and investing directly back into the Houston community.

Colossal isn’t just about us; it’s about everyone who walks through our doors. We strive to inspire and uplift children and families, also creating opportunities for local businesses.

Colossal Empire in Motion

Colossal Museum is just the beginning. Together we’re building the Colossal Empire, a growing network of ventures including: upcoming museum franchise (expanding our movement nationwide); Colossal Twins (Motivational Speakers) using our story to inspire; Colossal Talk (upcoming Podcast) real conversations that empower; and the Colossal Digital Hub (an online marketplace for digital products, courses, eBooks, guides, business resources and much more).

A Colossal Legacy

This isn’t just business. It’s a movement of empowerment, faith, and execution. We’re creating a legacy that will live for generations. We believe Colossal isn’t just for today; it’s for the future. Colossal is a reminder to the community and the world that dreams, no matter how big or small, can come alive if you have faith, put in the work, and keep pushing through challenges and never give up on your dreams.

“Colossal Dreams + Colossal Faith + Colossal Work = Colossal Victory.”
