The Army was never a topic in my family household, let alone my life.
When I was 21, I decided to join the army. Not because I wanted to serve the country, but because I was escaping. Fear of what my life could bring next. All of the abuse I was facing at the hands of my father, I felt like I had no outlet.
I believed that the army would help me build strength, resilience, and structure.
Using the army as an escape, I let God take control when choosing my job and became a mechanic. The proper term would be 91C, Utilities Equipment Repairer. I would fix AC units, generators, and even diesel engines.
Besides, the army believed that if you could fix one thing, you can fix anything. When I was learning to become a mechanic, I poured all my time into being the best I could be. Focusing on my new life ahead, I started getting rewarded. I graduated top of my MOS class and was awarded an Army Achievement Medal (AAM).
Not long after, I received two early promotions and was pinned by a 4-star general. This soon taught me that I am resilient, strong, and fearless. I finished off my army career as a paratrooper which was attached to a Special Forces Unit, and they never cut me any slack.
Bracing myself for yet another journey, I knew I was prepared. I branched off into the media world being myself and engaging with my peers. Striving to be the best, I built Renity Love – an award-winning creator, entrepreneur, and advocate. I released my positive energy, my humor, and my story to let people know that when life is messy, it can still be iconic. You are the light at the end of the tunnel; they all start dark.
My brand seemed to bloom overnight, but it was because I was dedicated. This year (2025) I was crowned Female Content Creator of the Year. This soared my energy to the top, showing me that hard work, structure, and a little pizzazz can take you to the top. I am now writing a novel dedicated to the women who feel like they have no voice.
