The Chaos Was the Catalyst: Why Your Symptoms Might Be the Start of Your Healing, Not the End

Autoimmune symptoms returned

At 44, I believed I had finally figured it out.

After years of battling autoimmunity, I was thriving—physically, mentally, and professionally. My energy was high, my body strong, and the symptoms that once consumed me were nowhere in sight. I had built a successful wellness practice that I poured everything into.

Then, almost overnight, the rug was pulled out from under me.

A personal betrayal shattered my trust and forced me to walk away from the very thing I thought was my purpose. I left the practice I had built from the ground up and started over. Almost immediately, my body began to speak again—but this time in a different language.

The fatigue returned. So did the bloating, the brain fog, the headaches. All the symptoms I thought I had conquered were back. But this time, I understood something deeper: my body wasn’t failing me. It was finally telling me the truth.

The Real Root of “Relapse”

Many high-performing women are taught to push through pain. We’re conditioned to see success as sacrifice and strength as suppression. But the body doesn’t forget what the mind works so hard to ignore.

For me, the return of my autoimmune symptoms wasn’t about a new stressor. It was the buried pain—unresolved grief, old trauma, years of emotional suppression—that finally had nowhere else to go. And my nervous system knew it.

I had read about adrenal fatigue years earlier, often while grinding through a second workout of the day. But reading and understanding something intellectually is different than truly integrating it. Back then, I thought I was doing everything “right.” In reality, I was bypassing what needed to be felt.

Why Addressing the Physical Alone Isn’t Enough

Many women seek healing through diet changes, supplements, and endless lab testing. While those tools have their place, they’re only part of the puzzle.

What I’ve learned through my own journey—and now guide my clients through—is this: true healing happens when we integrate the mind, body, and soul.

You cannot out-supplement your trauma.
You cannot out-diet your emotional exhaustion.
And you certainly cannot out-hustle your body’s cry for rest and restoration.

The Body Remembers. So Does the Unconscious Mind.

What I came to understand is this: symptoms are messengers.
When your body speaks—through fatigue, pain, bloating, or brain fog—it’s asking for more than surface-level intervention. It’s asking you to listen.

In my Digestive CPR method, I help women decode these messages. We work with physical dysfunctions—gut imbalances, hormonal shifts, inflammation—but we don’t stop there.

We also explore the emotional and spiritual roots of disease:

  • What are you still carrying that doesn’t belong to you?
  • What have you avoided feeling because it’s too uncomfortable?
  • Where have you been disconnected from your true self?

Your Healing Is Not a Straight Line—It’s a Spiral

Healing isn’t linear. And it isn’t just about “getting back to where you were.” It’s about becoming who you were always meant to be—free, aligned, and fully present in your body and your life.

What felt like chaos at the time was actually divine redirection. It forced me to stop bypassing and start embodying the very work I teach. And now, I help other women do the same.

If you’re walking through a season where everything feels like it’s falling apart, consider this: maybe it’s actually falling into place. Maybe the symptoms are the start—not the setback.

You don’t have to do it alone. And you don’t have to keep pushing through. There is another way—one that leads to peace, purpose, and true healing.
