As women entrepreneurs, we all have endless ‘to-do’ lists, goals, and dreams that we want to achieve. The first inclination is to work harder in order to achieve your goals and get things done. We can sometimes feel guilty for taking time off or relaxing when we know we have a lot of work to do. Here are some self-care tips that will help you.

First of all… Self Care isn’t selfish. It is an essential part of your life and your growth. Your ability to nurture yourself and step away from your business is an integral part of your success. Giving yourself the opportunity to be the observer and not the captain of the ship, will give you new perspectives, clarity, and more focus when you do come back to work. Plus, self-care feels good and we should all indulge in things that are good for our soul.

So here are my top 8 self-care tips and rituals that you can practice, daily, weekly, or as you need them….

Self Care Tips #1. Give yourself a compliment

Tell yourself you are beautiful, you are strong, courageous, smart, sexy. Reminding yourself that you are all of the above on a daily basis will grow your self-confidence and set you up for the day. Remind yourself about all the good qualities that you have.

Self Care Tips #2. Write down your goals

This will not only keep you focused and on track, but you will also be filled with purpose, dreams, and positivity to wake up every morning and conquer the day ahead.

Self Care Tips #3. Practice gratitude

Being grateful really impacts how we feel and what we attract into our lives. The more gratitude we practice, the more of the same we will attract into our lives. It is a powerful way to lift your mood and manifest more positive things into your life.

Self Care Tips #4. Have a facial, take care of your nails, skin, and hair.

As much as our internal mindset and wellbeing are important, it is also essential that you take care of the external parts of your body. As women, we should allow ourselves to feel pampered. Don’t neglect your skin, your hair, nails, and your body, because this helps and carries you through your life. If a woman looks after herself, that means she also looks after her home, her family, and her finances. Have pride in yourself and in giving your body and soul what you truly deserve.

Self Care Tips #5. Take time for you

Once in a while try and escape the daily routine, step away from your kids, TV, computer, your phone, and all the noise. Light up a candle, meditate, journal, read, take a relaxing bath. These are all the things that will help you quieten your mind, and open up your subconscious mind. You will find clarity and new ideas coming into your mind. You will probably find answers to things that you have been seeking. You will feel lighter, less stressed, and full of fresh energy and ideas. Don’t be afraid to sit in silence, because only being present with yourself will bring you true clarity.

Self Care Tips #6. Spend time in nature

Go out for a walk, a park, forest, beach, mountains. Whoever you have around you. Look up into the sky, smell the fresh air, feel the sun kissing your face with warmth. Take off your shoes and feel the grass on your feet. These things will help you feel more relaxed and connected. We are all connected with the earth and everything around us, and spending time in nature helps us reconnect with our inner selves and things around us.

Self Care Tips #7. Call a friend and catch up with someone who you have not spoken with for a while.

Sometimes we forget the real and authentic connections and those we have in our lives. Sometimes all it takes is just picking up your phone and connecting with someone. Maybe having a heart-to-heart with one of your best friends, or maybe it is a family member with who you don’t get to speak a lot. Pick up your phone and speak to them, better yet, invite them for coffee or lunch. There is nothing quite like making in-person connections.

Self Care Tips #8. Treat yourself to something nice.

If you are not one of those people who likes to shop a lot, go ahead and buy yourself something nice. You deserve it. It may be a pair of shoes, or a dress, maybe a luxury skincare set or even a holiday. Go ahead and spoil yourself a little. As they say, you only live once and you deserve it.
