The Road to Opportunity Is Paved with Books

Master Your Nutrition to Thrive in Business|Master Your Nutrition to Thrive in Business

As a woman entrepreneur and thought leader, you need to be seen and heard to be successful. You need the right people to discover your talents, and for potential clients to find you! Why not accomplish all of that by writing a nonfiction book? Nothing builds visibility, credibility, and opportunity faster and more powerfully than a book. Thanks to indie publishing options through Amazon KDP and other print-on-demand (POD) companies, it’s never been easier to write and publish a book you can build your business around. Writing a Book

Author = Authority

When you capture your legacy of knowledge into a book, you have the opportunity to nurture your relationship with potential clients all over the globe. Inside the pages of your book, your readers will get to know, like, and trust you through the personal and client success stories you share. They’ll hear your voice, and learn your unique approach to solving the problems that made them buy your book in the first place. Potential clients can test-drive working with you, all for a few dollars spent on Amazon or Kindle.

Harnessing the Power of Books: Establishing Authority and Opportunities

A book also establishes you as a leading authority in your field, a status you can leverage to:

  • Launch or grow a speaking career
  • Get media attention, podcast interviews, and invitations to share your message with wider audiences
  • Grow your email subscriber base (your email list is a powerful business asset with real monetary value)
  • Attract clients to your online courses, coaching programs, and other products and services
  • Grow multiple income streams, including earnings from book royalties
  • Generate endless marketing content for your business
  • Map out future courses, signature talks, and coaching programs
  • Change your life and the lives of your readers
  • Fulfill your hopes and dreams for your business, personal life, and your financial future

In short, writing a book is the fastest way to attract opportunities beyond what you can even predict or imagine.

Your published book builds visibility around the clock, on autopilot

Put in the effort once to write your book, and it becomes a visibility and marketing tool that works for you 24-7, every day of the year, into perpetuity. Unlike social media platforms and even email marketing strategies, your book doesn’t require you to endlessly create posts and content to share. Even with zero marketing, your book is searchable, findable, and available to people worldwide, creating its own momentum. You never know who will read your book and where that will lead!

How to write the right book for you and your business

To write the right book for you, start with the end in mind. What do you want your book to do for you? Think carefully about what kinds of people and opportunities your book will attract. Who are your dream clients, and what work do you feel called to do? Don’t forget to consider what you don’t want to attract.

Next, consider what type of book to write. Do you want to become a speaker on international stages? If so, books with a clear framework or step-by-step transformational process translate beautifully into keynote speeches. Want to write a memoir? Think about how to tell your story in a way that helps someone else overcome similar life challenges and circumstances. If you want to attract leads to your coaching programs, online courses, and other services, consider writing a book that follows the same unique transformational process you teach and coach.

Identify your book’s purpose

Your book’s purpose is your promise to your readers that you will help them solve a specific problem or experience a transformation from where they are now, to where they want to go. To clarify your book’s purpose, consider:

  1. What do you want the reader to know by the end of this book?
  2. How do you want the reader to feel at the end of this book?
  3. What do you want the reader to do at the end, for themselves, and in terms of the next steps you want them to take with you?

BookEvery chapter will take your readers one step closer to reaching what they desire, and by the last page, you will have earned your reader’s trust, respect, and confidence in you as the best person to help solve their problems. Think of your book as a powerful lead magnet, too—don’t forget calls to action!

Tell your readers exactly how to get in touch if they want to learn more, join your community, or work with you directly. You can also build your email subscriber list by offering a downloadable gift, like a companion workbook, checklist, or other resource accessible via a QR code or opt-in link at the front of your book. Be sure to include social links and invite readers to join your community so you can continue to nurture that relationship long after they put your book down.

Your book can fast-track your dream life

Here’s a fun journaling exercise I love to give my coaching clients at the end of our first call together:

What does your life look like five years from now—personally, professionally, and financially— because you wrote this book?

Dream as big as you like, and be honest and specific about your aspirations. What does success look like to you in all areas of your life? Not only will these answers solidify your book’s purpose and ideal audience, but they’ll inspire you later when you hit the ‘messy middle’ of your book project. Motivation will only get you so far – it’s inspiration that will take you across the finish line. Your dreams are that inspiration.

Are you ready to attract your dream clients, doing work that makes your soul sing? It all begins with a book.
