I started my business in the weeds of motherhood, with no “village” or traditional support system…
Yet, I built a successful business out of thin air while raising small children and grew that business to 10k within months of working part time.
When I started this whole “entrepreneurship” thing, I was just a college dropout. I had walked away from my 9-5 salary position managing a doggy daycare when my son was born because I knew I was meant for more. I knew I wasn’t cut out for building someone else’s dream and fueling their success at the cost of my own sanity.
It was a season of deep faith, and a whole lot of failing forward when I stepped into the online business world. All I knew was, I was going to make something out of nothing.
And that is exactly what I did.
The thing they don’t tell you about entrepreneurship is that 90% of it is an internal game. I spent years deep diving into personal development. I listened to countless podcasts, I read hundreds of books, and took courses to grow my expertise.
In college, I was a psych major, and little did I know the psychology I was really going to be interested in paralleled directly with business. Entrepreneurship ran through my veins long before I had the spark of an idea.
After I spent months dabbling in the online space as a virtual assistant, I fell in love with building a brand. Both visually and energetically, I discovered that I had a knack for taking the swirling visions in someone’s head and turning them into something seen, felt, and understood.
It became so clear to me through observation and personal trial and error, that having a brand was the thing that created success for the women’s footsteps I was aspiring to follow in. I saw it unfold in real time for the clients I was supporting.
I could see so clearly that positioning myself in the online space directly impacted my success.
This is where I want women 50+ to pay attention…
I became recognized, remembered and PAID when I focused on building brand authority. I switched my positioning from “general virtual assistant” to “intuitive brand designer” and honed in on my messaging.
This shift is what allowed me to take my natural talents, my innate brilliance, and my lived experience and package it into five-figure branding services that women became EAGER to pay for. In full.
So often I see women 50+ hiding on the sidelines because they don’t think they’re tech savvy enough, they don’t think they measure up to the trends, and they don’t think they have the know-how to share their magic.
I call that BS. I might be a younger generation, but believe me – I know the value of lived experience.
The women I’ve worked with for nearly a decade now are already so worthy of the wealth, the success and the legacy they aspire to create.
All of the online business nonsense that keeps them hiding and playing small can be shifted when they give themselves permission to want more.
I’ve seen women in the weeds of midlife create a completely renewed relationship with their work after getting clear on their brand authority, positioning and messaging.
It isn’t rocket science, but it does require having intention behind every action, and taking aligned action every single day.
Brand authority is pretty simple, when it comes down to it. Decide what you want to be known for and yap about it until you turn blue in the face.
Kidding, kind of.
The most successful women I’ve met actually do deal with imposter syndrome under the surface, but they still share their story, share their expertise, and are committed to their vision.
Over and over again.
They are so passionate about what they do, that they can’t not talk about it. Their sold out offers are a byproduct of them getting to the soul of their work.
It’s hard to not share about something you believe in. And sure, believing in yourself is a whole other conversation – but it’s where the magic lies.
So for women who are in their midlife era, it’s about focusing less on what the internet says you “should” do and focusing more on the gifts you already possess, and positioning them well.
Permission to cut through the noise of content, the noise of the endless trends, and the quiet imposter syndrome that holds you back.
Everything you desire – the long term wealth, the legacy, the truly aligned business that brings you JOY – is on the other side of building your magnetic brand.
