We see it all the time: “Follow my launch strategy and you’ll be making millions by year 2”. Or “use my email templates to get $10k months”.
And whilst those claims might be true, they were created by a specific person, with a specific set of circumstances.
Yes, they are proven strategies; I’m not arguing that, but what I am bringing to the table is that we are all different.
The templates, funnels, and launch strategies are often built for quick-win problems, ones that can be fixed with the right sequence of emails or the right hook on a reel.
I know how to market an experience. I spent years marketing businesses within the hospitality sector, and I’m good at it. But in my work now, I move my clients’ worlds and change the trajectory of their lives. That isn’t something that fits inside a $99 template!
So when your business coach asks you to post every day, set up an 11-email nurture sequence, or create an ad funnel with 3 upsells, the frequency of your transformation is getting lost in marketing noise.
When I joined a 5-day challenge last year, you know the one where you know they will ask you for $3k at the end of the week? I knew I wouldn’t be buying the product.
I knew, through my knowledge of the Human Design system, that I was a completely different energy type, profile, and authority than the woman running the challenge and making millions.
And 2 weeks later, when I went to an in-person networking event in my local area, I met other women who had brought the course the previous time she had launched it.
And the conversation I had with these women really did solidify this understanding: they had gone through the course, tried all the tactics and templates, but they were still no better off now than they were before. And $3k down.
So it wasn’t just me that these tactics don’t work for.

Why the Same Strategy Doesn’t Work for Everyone
Here’s what I want to be clear about: any strategy you find through a business coach isn’t wrong. Funnels, emails, hooks on reels, content calendars… they all work. They’ve made a lot of people a lot of money.
But they were tried, tested, and proven by someone with a specific energy, a particular pace, and a specific way of connecting with others. But that might not be YOUR energy, pace, or connection.
So when you copy the tactic without understanding the person and the frequency underneath it, you’re not buying strategy.
You’re buying a shiny object that was designed to distract you from your true way of sharing your voice and genius with the world.

This is Where Human Design Comes In
Human Design is a system that maps how each of us is built to make decisions, hold energy, and show up in the world, based on your date, time, and place of birth. It combines elements of astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and quantum physics into something far more practical than it sounds: a blueprint for how you’re actually meant to operate, rather than how you’ve been taught to operate.
Within that system, there are different energy types. Some people are built to work in consistent, high-output bursts.
Others are built to respond rather than initiate, to wait for the right opening rather than force one. Some do their best work through deep, one-to-one connection rather than broadcasting to a crowd. None of these are better or worse. They’re just different engines, and they run on different fuel.
The woman running that $3k challenge is likely a different type than most of the women sitting in her audience.
Her strategy works for her because it matches how she’s built. But when you hand that same strategy to a hundred women with a hundred different designs, most of them won’t get her results, not because they didn’t try hard enough, but because they were never running the right engine for that road.

What This Means for Your Marketing
If you’re doing deep, transformational work, this matters even more. You’re not selling a template or a quick fix. You’re selling change that takes time, trust, and space to land. So ask yourself:
1. Does my marketing match my energy, or someone else’s?
2. Am I building trust through depth, or chasing reach through frequency?
3. Is my visibility rhythm sustainable for me, or borrowed from someone whose design looks nothing like mine?
Your marketing doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s. It needs to look like you, working the way you were actually built to work. That’s not a lesser strategy. It’s the only one that will hold.
A visionary doesn’t copy someone else’s blueprint. She builds her own.
