From Cabin Crew to CEO: How Service Shaped My Journey in Dubai Real Estate
What aviation, entrepreneurship and real estate taught me about trust, leadership and building a business that puts people first.
When I look back at my professional life, one theme has remained constant: service.
Before I entered real estate, I spent years working as cabin crew with Emirates. Aviation taught me that genuine service goes far beyond completing a task. It means paying attention, anticipating what someone may need, communicating clearly and helping people feel looked after, especially when they are in unfamiliar or stressful situations.
Working with people from different cultures and backgrounds also taught me adaptability and empathy. No two people are exactly the same, and good service begins with understanding the person in front of you rather than treating everyone the same.
Those lessons stayed with me long after each flight ended. Eventually, they became the foundation for the way I approached a completely different industry: Dubai real estate.
As my interest in property and investment grew, I began to notice how overwhelming the buying process could feel. Dubai offers extraordinary opportunity, but for someone unfamiliar with the market, the terminology, the financing process or the different communities, it can also feel complicated.
I realised that the principles I had learned in aviation were just as important in real estate: listen first, understand the person, explain clearly, anticipate problems and remember that a decision that may feel routine to a professional can be life-changing for a client.
In 2024, I founded TheRealtorDubai Real Estate Brokerage with that philosophy at its core.
I wanted to build a company where people could ask questions openly, understand their options and receive guidance without feeling pressured into making a decision. For me, buying a property should never begin with, “What can I sell you?” It should begin with, “What are you trying to achieve?”
A home or investment property may represent years of savings, a family’s future or an important step toward financial security. That deserves more than a transaction. It deserves care, honesty and clear advice.
Building a company from the ground up has been one of the achievements I am most proud of. Entrepreneurship means taking responsibility for everything: the brand, the team, the clients, the decisions, the mistakes and the direction of the business.
But the part I value most is not simply that the company exists or that it has grown. It is the trust clients place in us.
When someone returns to us, refers a colleague or family member, or tells us they felt properly looked after, it reminds me why I started. Reputation is not built through one impressive gesture. It is built through the small things you do consistently: showing up, following through, listening properly and doing what you said you would do.
Today, my focus is to grow TheRealtorDubai without losing the sense of service on which it was built.
Growth, to me, is not simply about becoming bigger. It is about becoming better and more useful to the people who trust us. That means developing the right team, improving how we advise our clients, creating educational content and helping buyers and investors understand the Dubai property market before making major financial decisions.
I want our team to understand that we are not here simply to sell property. We are here to listen, advise, protect our clients’ interests and help them make decisions they will still feel comfortable with years later.
One of the most valuable lessons I have learned is that the way you make people feel matters.
Careers change. Markets change. Opportunities come and go. But people remember whether you treated them with respect, whether you kept your word and whether you were there when they needed you.
That belief has followed me from aviation into real estate, entrepreneurship and leadership. My personal motto is simple: “Live a life of service, and leave people better than you found them.”
Service can take many forms. Sometimes it is helping someone through a difficult moment. Sometimes it is sharing knowledge. Sometimes it is simply doing your job with care and responsibility.
Ambition and success are important, but they become far more meaningful when what you build is also useful to other people.
If there is one message I would share with women building careers, businesses or new chapters in their lives, it is this: do not be afraid to change direction when another path feels more aligned with who you are becoming.
My journey has taken me through aviation, real estate and entrepreneurship. They may look like completely different worlds, but for me there has always been a common thread: people.
You do not need to have your entire life mapped out before you begin. Keep learning. Stay curious. Be willing to start again. Surround yourself with people who challenge you to become better, and take calculated risks when the opportunity feels right.
Whatever path you choose, remember that success is not only measured by what you accumulate or achieve. It is also measured by the value you create, the people you help and the way you choose to show up for others.
Whatever you build, build something you are proud to put your name behind – and make sure it serves a purpose beyond yourself.
