Women Will Do Great Things

Women Will Do Great Things – We All Need Inspiration to Believe in Ourselves

As we all move through life, we have; hopes, dreams, intentions, goals, and aspirations. So call it what you will. We also all have roadblocks and diversions or see our dreams shattered and our hearts broken. I had my dreams shattered, and my heart broken and felt hopeless and fearful of the future.

After nearly 25 years of marriage and almost 50 years old, infidelity and divorce made me feel this way. But, I did learn that healing is an active process. You can’t sit ideally and wait for the magic to happen. It won’t. No matter what your age, you can face challenges and start over. I prefer to call it a New Beginning. I had felt like my heart had been torn to pieces and blown away in the tornado that ripped through my marriage.

But no, thankfully, a small piece of my once whole heart was still there. I began to understand that if I nurtured it, it would heal and grow full again. And that it did. For me, it meant giving back to my community but also making sure I gave extra attention to the woman who looked back at me in the mirror each morning, being grateful, and taking each day one step at a time.

As the years passed, I focused on myself. I was stepping out of my box. Not holding back or being afraid to try new things, my world opened up.  My kids, family, and friends were my focus. I continued to be involved in a local charity—volunteering and being on committees.

My growth, confidence, and empowerment became a natural part of my being. I knew I was caring for myself, nurturing friendships, and caring for my family. Although I often felt that there was something more for me, I hadn’t figured it out yet.

As the world rang in 2020, that year of solitude, chaos, loss, and a halt to anything “normal.” That was the beginning of extreme growth, gaining knowledge, and finding the path to my purpose and passion.  I stepped out of my comfort zone, becoming an Author, Certified Life, and Health Coach, speaking on podcasts, submitting magazine articles, starting a Coaching business, and becoming a coach and mentor to divorcing women.

What was this transformation? All of this has happened over the last few years. I have often reflected on this transition I have made. As a result, I am more confident, courageous, and happy than ever.

I listened to a fantastic woman in 2020, Barbara Mark Hubbard, on the platform MindValley. She was a trailblazer for women, and her words of wisdom were inspiring—one thing she said that stuck with me; Barabar spoke about how women live, giving to others, managing life, and putting others first. But a woman often comes into her own, feels most comfortable in her skin, and makes her mark in the world later in life.

Her words sparked energy in me, giving me a feeling of empowerment in my own life. Over the last few years, I have felt alive, the most comfortable with who I am than I ever have. Knowing that women can empower each other and help each other do great things for each other and the world.

Recently I was listening to a woman, Dr. Andrea Slominski, aka Dr. A, and her words spoke to my soul. It was what I needed to hear. To understand how I felt but couldn’t put it into words.

I get goosebumps just thinking about what is ahead of me and what the future holds for women.

One of the things Dr. A talked about was the 7 Realms of Change for women: All women over 40 will cross:

*Body

*Self-Image

*Roles

*Feeling

*Needs

*Priorities

*Goals

I am so excited to learn more.

Women have the power to do great things and make a positive impact on others and the world.

This quote sums it up so beautifully.

“Life really does begin at 40. Up until then, you are just doing research.”

Carl Jung

As women, we feel that it is too late to embrace a New Beginning as we get older. However, I speak with confidence that this is just the beginning. It is always possible to do something new and give amazing things to the world. It may involve taking a leap of faith and learning not to worry.

I am not eloquent, but I have something to say, and I know my words and experience can help other women get through troubling times and find the following purpose that will give them confidence, courage, and self-worth.

As we get older, we have more to offer than we did 20, 30, and 40 years ago. No need to fear the future; let it excite you.
